چکیده

Stochastic resonance induced by external factor is considering to investigate the complex dynamics of tumor. The surrounding environment and the treatment effects on the tumor growth are considered as additive and multiplicative noises in growth model. The adaptability of tumor to treatment is presented by correlation of these two noises. The FokkerPlank equation is deduced to study the probability distribution function and mean number of tumor cells in different conditions. The mean number of tumor cells can be controlled by the correlation and intensity of noises.

A stochastic mathematical model of avascular tumor growth patterns and its treatment by means of noises

Due to the rate increase in cancer incidence, many researchers in different fields have been conducting studies on cancer-related phenomena. Most studies are conducted to focus on cellular and molecular aspects of cancerous diseases and treatment strategies. Physicists have been using mathematical modeling and simulation to explain the growth pattern of tumors. Although most published studies i...

Outage Probability Bound and Diversity Gain for Ultra-Wideband Multiple-Access Relay Channels with Correlated Noises

In this paper, Ultra-wideband (UWB) multiple access relay channel with correlated noises at the relay and receiver is investigated. We obtain outer and inner bounds for the IEEE 802.15.3a UWB multiple access relay channel, and also, a diversity gain bound. Finally, we evaluate some results numerically and show that noise correlation coefficients play important role in determining relay position.

Effects of time-delay in stationary properties of a logistic growth model with correlated noises

A time-delayed tumor cell growth model with correlated noises is investigated. In the condition of small delay time, the stationary probability distribution is derived and the stationary mean value (〈x〉st ) and normalized variance λ2 of the tumor cell population and state transition rate (κ) between two steady states are numerically calculated. The results indicate that: (i) The delay time (τ )...

Kalman filtering & colored noises: the (autoregressive) moving-average case

The Kalman filter is a well-known and efficient recursive algorithm that estimates the state of a dynamic system from a series of indirect and noisy observations of this state. Its applications range from signal processing to machine learning, through speech processing or computer vision. The underlying model usually assumes white noises. Extensions to colored autoregressive (AR) noise model ar...

Two Dimensional Mathematical Model of Tumor Angiogenesis: Coupling of Avascular Growth and Vascularization

Introduction As a tumor grows, the demand for oxygen and nutrients increases and it grows further if acquires the ability to induce angiogenesis. In this study, we aimed to present a two-dimensional continuous mathematical model for avascular tumor growth, coupled with a discrete model of angiogenesis. Materials and Methods In the avascular growth model, tumor is considered as a single mass, wh...
